On Friday, the Academy’s Student Council undertook a litter pick of the school and the surrounding area. Year 7 started on the school field and then moved over to the adjacent astroturf and skate park whilst year 8 and 9 started at the front of the school and then went to part of the nearby Writtle estate. The two teams competed to see who could collect the most rubbish and win the coveted Brittons Golden Dishcloth. In the end, Ms Gilbert’s Year 8/9 team were triumphant (although Mr Shercliff’s year 7 team did run out of bin bags and were, therefore, the moral winners). The Student Council plan to do more litter picks and other projects involving the local community next year. Thanks to everyone involved.
