Brittons Year 8 Students Enjoy Walking Tour of Dagenham Dock

8P and 8R enjoyed a walking tour of Dagenham Dock today, hosted by London tour guide, Rob Smith. Mr Smith regaled students with stories of Dagenham’s industrial past and present ranging from the removal of the mud barriers caused by flooding by Captain John Perry at Breach Road to the origins of Thunderer Road (see above – nothing to do with Bruce Springsteen) to Dagenham’s current contribution to green industries. Students were left with a much better understanding of the fascinating contribution Dagenham has made to British and World History. 8I, 8D and 8E will have the same tour over the next few weeks. Thanks to Mr Frankcom for organising.
